Last Visited 5/7/26
Policy Summary

This chapter establishes mobile food truck and sidewalk vending regulations for operating within the public right-of-way in the unincorporated areas of the County of Riverside. The law specifically recognizes the benefits such business can have with respect to “provid[ing] important entrepreneurship and economic development opportunities to low-income and immigrant communities,” and “increas[ing] access to culturally significant food.” Regulations include, among others, limitations on food truck and sidewalk vending proximity to primary and secondary school locations during school days. The law also includes penalty provisions, for chapter violations–along with fine reductions and alternatives, including allowances for sidewalk vendors to request an ability-to-pay (ATP) determination.
