Funding the Youth Agriculture & Aquaponics Program

H.B. 5001 is Florida’s General Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2024–2025 (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025). The bill includes $330,000 in nonrecurring funds for a Youth Agriculture & Aquaponics Program. The appropriation provides the Department of Education with funding for curriculum, materials, supplies, and technology to support instruction in agriculture and aquaponics at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. The program is intended to advance hands-on agricultural education and sustainable food production practices.
