Enacting the Budget Act of 2021 to Fund School Meals for All

A.B. 128 / S.B. 170 – The Budget Act of 2021 established a School Meals for All program in California. This bill provides $108,000 for a position to assist local educational agencies in applying for a universal meal service program, $3.9 million to establish 29.5 positions for implementing the program in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 fiscal years, and $54 million to reimburse additional costs incurred by agencies offering universal meals during the 2021-22 fiscal year.
