Appropriating Funds for Classroom Agriculture Programs and Processing Wyoming Meat Donated to Schools

WY S.F. 1 2022

Last Visited 3/30/26
Policy Summary

S.F. 1 appropriates $300,000 to the Department of Agriculture for Wyoming agriculture in the classroom and requires the Department of Education to maintain expenditures for applied agriculture and farming programs. The bill also authorizes the Department of Education to spend up to $50,000 for the school protein enhancement project. H.B. 52 (2021) created the school protein enhancement project to match every dollar a school district spends to process donated Wyoming poultry, lamb, pork, beef, or bison — a project that S.F. 123 (2017) created as a pilot project.
